DIRECTV Error Codes
In rare cases, your DIRECTV receiver may display certain error codes. If this happens, please reference the below DIRECTV error code table to determine the underlying issue and resolve the problem.
Error Code | Issue | Cause / Resolution |

14, 15, 18, 19 | Internal Storage Error Detected | Select “Reboot” to reset Receiver. If still a problem: Do NOT try to reformat from the front panel. Replace Receiver. |
22 | Internal Storage Error Detected | The HDDVR was rebooted while uploading new hard drive firmware. Replace receiver. |
201 | (GEMINI ONLY) Username or password issue | Check your username and change your password if necessary at ATT.com or DIRECTV.com. |
203 | Account past due | Make sure your bill is current at ATT.com or DIRECTV.com. |
215 | (GEMINI ONLY) Device tampered | Device must be returned and replaced. |
216 | (GEMINI ONLY) Device not connected to internet | Connect device to your home network. Select Get Connected when displayed on-screen. |
217 | (GEMINI ONLY) Device offline for 30+ days | Connect device to your home network. Select Get Connected when displayed on-screen. |
218 | (GEMINI ONLY) Device in Developer Mode | Device must be returned and replaced. |
219 | (GEMINI ONLY) Software update required | Device requires a software update to continue working properly. |
611, 612, 613 | No servers detected | Check cabling or look for a problem with the Genie DVR. |
711 | Access Card Is Not Active | Customer Service (CS) needs to activate. |
721 | Service Isn’t Authorized | CS needs to authorize. Can also indicate a blackout condition. |
722 | Service Expired | Reconnect IRD & have CS reauthorize. |
727 | Program Not Available | Have CS verify address and resend authorizations. If unavailable, check for “Blackouts.” |
745, 746 | General access card error | 1) Have CS resend authorization 2) Reset IRD 3) Replace access card. |
761, 762 | Insert Your Card | Access card isn’t all the way in the IRD. Remove & reinsert card. |
771 | Searching for Satellite | Check peaking, line of sight, connections, and distribution system. |
775 | Problem Communicating w/ Dish | SWiM power inserter may need to be plugged in. |
927 | On Demand Download Error | Check your internet connection. Go through the “Reconnect Now” procedure. |
928 | Wireless Video Bridge Issue | Check all connections. If necessary, reset the wireless connection. |
