DIRECTV Error Codes

In rare cases, your DIRECTV receiver may display certain error codes. If this happens, please reference the below DIRECTV error code table to determine the underlying issue and resolve the problem.

Error Code Issue Cause / Resolution
14, 15, 18, 19Internal Storage Error DetectedSelect “Reboot” to reset Receiver. If still a problem: Do NOT try to reformat from the front panel. Replace Receiver.
22Internal Storage Error DetectedThe HDDVR was rebooted while uploading new hard drive firmware. Replace receiver.
201(GEMINI ONLY) Username or password issueCheck your username and change your password if necessary at ATT.com or DIRECTV.com.
203Account past dueMake sure your bill is current at ATT.com or DIRECTV.com.
215(GEMINI ONLY) Device tamperedDevice must be returned and replaced.
216(GEMINI ONLY) Device not connected to internetConnect device to your home network. Select Get Connected when displayed on-screen.
217(GEMINI ONLY) Device offline for 30+ daysConnect device to your home network. Select Get Connected when displayed on-screen.
218(GEMINI ONLY) Device in Developer ModeDevice must be returned and replaced.
219(GEMINI ONLY) Software update requiredDevice requires a software update to continue working properly.
611, 612, 613No servers detectedCheck cabling or look for a problem with the Genie DVR.
711Access Card Is Not ActiveCustomer Service (CS) needs to activate.
721Service Isn’t AuthorizedCS needs to authorize. Can also indicate a blackout condition.
722Service ExpiredReconnect IRD & have CS reauthorize.
727Program Not AvailableHave CS verify address and resend authorizations. If unavailable, check for “Blackouts.”
